Elevate (Firestone) RubberCover Bonding Adhesive is a solvent-based EPDM contact adhesive specifically designed for bonding American EPDM membranes to insulation (PIR), wood, metal, masonry and other suitable substrates.

One 10L can of contact cement is enough to bond +/- 25m² of EPDM membrane. Note that temperature and substrate may affect adhesive consumption!

Application

Mix the EPDM contact adhesive well before using for the first time and pour some of the adhesive into the container provided.

Unfold the EPDM membrane completely over the entire surface of the roof, folding the slopes inwards on all sides. The EPDM membrane has no top or bottom, so it doesn't matter how you unfold it. First fold the EPDM membrane in half and adhere one half. Apply DOUBLE-SIDED contact cement to both the substrate and the EPDM membrane.

After gluing, allow the contact adhesive to dry for about 15 minutes until the EPDM membrane is NOT sticking to your hands!

Then, with the help of 2 people, roll the bonded EPDM membrane evenly and without tension over the bonded surface. Immediately rub out any creases with your hand or a soft bristle brush.

Repeat this procedure for the other half of the EPDM membrane.
